Sight Night: The Joy of Sight – Tyler, TX

Start your Texas event tour off with Sight Night on October 3 (hosted by sight.org). This event features local art, live music, and delicious cuisine. Plus, it offers you the opportunity to give back while you have fun! The local artists at this event will showcase pieces that are available for purchase during the live auction. Afterward, all proceeds will go toward providing sight to the blind in Togo, Africa.

This event takes place at Callynth Photography Studio from 6 until 9 PM. You can purchase tickets to Sight Night with a $5 (minimum) donation. It’s an amazing experience that you are sure to enjoy.

Jefferson Flea Market and City-Wide Rummage Sale Weekend – Jefferson, TX

The Jefferson Flea Market has taken Eastern Texas by storm over the past year. It houses beautiful, unique antiques and collectibles that visitors absolutely love. So, of course, you’ll want to stop by for a visit to market at the start of this month! It’s open every first and third weekend – meaning you can start off by dropping by between October 6 – October 8 from 8 AM until 5 PM.

On this same weekend, you can participate in the City-Wide Rummage Sale at Jefferson Flea Market. During this event, residents have the opportunity to set up shop and sell items to lucky shoppers from all over. So, clear out your garage and make a profit from the quality items you no longer use!

Frankston Community Health Fair – Frankston, TX

Visit the 17th Annual Frankston Community Health Fair on October 7 from 8:30 AM until 12:30 PM. This FREE event will feature mammograms, vaccines, Blood Drive donations, children’s service, and so much more. Additionally, there will be free testing available to attendees, including tests for cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, and hearing. This is the perfect time to take charge of your health – and you can do it at no cost!

Bring the entire family along with you to this event. Adults, kids, and even pets are welcomed. There will be lots of activities available to keep the kids entertained, as well as animal health information provided by Lake Palestine Animal Hospital. So, be sure to head out to the UMC of Frankston Family Life Center for this annual health fair. This is a helpful, fun-filled event that you don’t want to miss!

Steel Magnolias – Rusk, TX

Battle on the Border – Texarkana, TX

Make the drive to Texarkana, TX for the Battle on the Border event on October 10. It will feature a Chili Cook-off, a 5K Run, a Vocal Band Competition, a Horseshoe Tossing Contest, and even Cash Prizes. Plus, there will be lots of vendors, merchandisers, and beer/wine gardens there as well.

General Admission to Battle on the Border is $5 per person. However, VIP access is also available. Afterward, all NET proceeds will go toward “Imagination Library”. Stop by Spring Lake Park on October 10 from 12 until 8 PM to join in on the fun.
